I just thought the the Tapo C200 camera was the next generation of the KC110 as they're clearly the same pan\tilt\zoom camera on a different base. Controlling the camera and socket is easy from the app and can be linked to your virtual assistants such as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Umm... those switches are hideous! Which leads me to Kasa or Smart Life/Tuya. But the cloud connection is TLS encrypted... Only the the local connection does not use encryption.. local data does not go "over the wire" in plain text, it is encoded. Stories: 0. Note: the reason I ask is the "time delay" between me setting it up through local lan vs the time the husband wants to use it. For the Tuya platform, many (most??) So many options to choose from. As hubitat does not (yet) support encryption, to use these devices you will need to make software and/or hardware modification to the device (to change the firmware) so that it can be used with Hubitat (via the sOnOff (Connect) app). Although the Kasa devices do not have AES security, they can be set to local control only (i.e., do not use cloud to control). Top-notch technology with a few "bugs" – choose if you want a mini smart plug and don't mind the higher price. The only nice this is the "remote" is removable from the face plate thing.

Now that I know Kasa and Tapo are two different ecosystems, like other users, I am immediately returning the Tapo C200 and now looking for a different unified ecosystem and app. Yes, Tapo P100 has no IFTTT, but it seems it's able to work around the clock without WIFI(tested on my router for at least 8-10 hours), Kasa HS-105 can't do the trick. What I love most about this is everything has built-in WiFi, meaning each device connects to your router directly, rather than requiring you to plug in a separate hub to your router. If not planned, it should be something that TP-Link should consider, Having to run Kasa and Tapo app for different devices.

This used to be available in the Kasa phone app (but has been removed) and is now available through the just publised Kasa Tools application to re-introduce these restrictions. In local only control, the Kasa App does not control your device and the Google / Amazon Kasa skills do not work (they work through the Kasa Cloud. At the end of the free plan, you need to subscribe to one of the paid plans to continue to use the cloud storage. I've just done exactly the same thing on the basis that I will be able to use the normal Kasa app. Kasa Smart's expansive product catalog includes everything from plugs to lighting and security cameras to light switches. If you’re new to the world of smart home technology, you’ve got a huge range of products and brands to choose from which can become pretty overwhelming! And the Tapo P100 supports up to 20 schedules at once time; while the HS100 supports 31. That's why I wasn't a huge fan of Insteon, or even Lutron to be honest (Lutron requires their *Pro* hub for local compatibility). I simply needed another KC110 and I loved it, it worked great, and was so easy to see my different cameras all from one interface on Kasa. When you take into consideration the affordability of the devices (the Tapo Smart Plug is only £12.99 on Amazon), these are a MUST-HAVE! There is no option to save to the cloud, which is handy if you’re not a fan of yet another monthly subscription fee, like me. All the Kasa cameras will apply a 2-year limitation for the free plan. Not the first to not like the Caseta look. I like being able to control the same device through Google OR Hubitat OR my phone OR HassIO, etc. Rolling 12-hour video history for 2 years, $3 per month, per camera or $30 per year, per camera, $10 per month, per account or $100 per year, per account, TP-Link takes your privacy seriously. But based on what I've read here, the Caseta range is the best option (although I also do understand your thoughts on the aesthetics).

The camera is especially unique with its function to tilt and pan the view which is notably easy to control from the app and view from wherever you have an internet connection.
