The Windermere Ferry, a vehicle-carrying cable ferry, runs across the lake from Ferry Nab on the eastern side of the lake to Far Sawrey on the western side of the lake. The fictional lake resembles Windermere, but the surrounding hills and fells resemble those of Coniston Water. Hill just north of Windermere offering amazing views. Weren’t serving food at the time but happy to recommend places to go. Overall thoroughly enjoyed Windermere and the surrounding areas! Free car parking was available. Masks are required for visitors. Lovely lobbies are permited to use where I can have my dinner.

Racer Norman Buckley set several world water speed records on Windermere in the 1950s.[24]. Lovely hotel. The property is situated half way between Bowness and Windermere. Rich was generous enough to lend us towels and a lock even after we had checked out. Windermere is the largest natural lake in England. There is a hierarchy to the houses which is said to relate to the position of the executive that owned each house. The lodge is a short walk to Windermere and Bowness high-streets, perfect for those without a car or those looking to avoid the need to drive while on holiday.
