Police have resumed searching for the body of a man killed by a shark off the coast of Esperance on Western Australia's south coast on Sunday afternoon.

However, Western Australia Police said the body was not Mr Johnson but believed to be a 21-year-old man who was reported missing from the beach on January 2.
The grim discovery comes as the search continues for the body of Gary Johnson, who was fatally attacked by a shark seven kilometres off the Esperance coast on Sunday.
