Dawkins offers a well-pronounced, pitch-perfect delivery and smartly never attempts to turn the reading into a performance from Darwin's point of view. Choosing to narrate in the high-pitched, nasal tones of Darwin's era and class is clever acting, but it can be hard listening. I have been aware of this landmark book for many years now. I addition, l was struck by the many references to previous and contemporary studies on topics and inquiries relating to his studies.
