Johann Valetin Andreae (1586-1654) was a German theologian who was probably the author of The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz, one of the three founding works of Rosicrucianism. A prominent student of the Stift during this period was Johannes Kepler. Andreae was born at Herrenberg, Württemberg, the son of Johannes Andreae, and studied theology and natural sciences as a young man.
